I don't usually write at midnight, but sometimes I get an idea at three in the morning.

Writer's Block?

I've been trying to write a tribute to Ray Bradbury, but the words keep running away from me... It's very frustrating. I want to share my heart, yet my heart is refusing to share.
In addition, this weekend is the end of my environmental science class and I'm really trying to hold onto my 3.8 GPA, so I have quite a bit of research and writing to do for the discussion board.
Let's throw in the fact that Monday is my first wedding anniversary, Tuesday Brian and I are going out to see "KA" at the MGM, and I also have cards to write for my seniors who are graduating on Wednesday (which I am helping with).
I'm a busy little (???) bee, but I will put up my essay as soon as possible.

  1. The heart can be quite fickle at times, yes? But I have confidence in you to talk your heart around.

    1. Thanks Geri! It's ironic that the death of one of my literary heroes has transfigured my way of looking at my possible career. I'm getting there: just slowly.

  2. Do you find that the busy running not only takes time away from creating, but that it also adds to creative blockage in the few stolen moments? Or do you keep a small notebook with you for ideas that want to be expressed so you can reference it when the crush is done? I can definitely appreciate that 3 a.m. thing. My husband has yet to adapt to it!

    1. Thanks for reading, Peri! I do keep a sketchbook in my purse for design and writing ideas. I'm also grateful to have my smartphone that takes dictation for me and can email it to me immediately!
And you're right, creative blockage is directly proportional to the amount of hoopla I allow to interfere with my tranquility.
